Welcome to Reception.

Welcome back I hope everyone has had a restful week off.

We are welcoming Miss Hargreaves to our Reception team, she will be working with us every Monday and Tuesday morning.

Autumn 2

This half term we are going to continue working on building our relationships with the other children in the class.

We are looking at the story, ‘The Gingerbread Man’ linking it to English, Maths, Expressive Arts and Design and Understanding the World.

On this page, you will see the exciting things we get up to in Reception Class.

Please have a look at The Curriculum Overview (files to download at the bottom of the page) to find out what we will be learning about over this half term.

Homework

Each half term Reception receive a homework grid. There are a variety of activities to have a go at on the grid. We understand that family life is busy therefore it is not essential that all of these activities are completed, we do ask that your child aims to complete some of the activities to reinforce their learning across the curriculum and allows children to showcase their creative skills.

P.E.

Reception have a P.E. session every Thursday morning. Please can you ensure your child has a full P.E. kit that is labelled. We are now asking that on a Thursday morning you send your child into school with their P.E. kit on and their school uniform on over the top. Enabling us to go straight into our P.E. lesson. We will get changed after P.E. into our school uniform and send P.E kit them home.

Cool Milk

If you would like your child to have milk you will need to register them on the cool milk website. Once your child has turned 5 if you wish for them to continue having milk it is important you register and pay the required termly fee.
