A Victorian Christmas at Gawthorpe Hall - Part 1

Lesson: History

Class: Year 2 Year: 2019-2020

Year 2 recently visited Gawthorpe Hall to have taste of what Christmas would be like in Victorian times. They went all around the hall, made christmas pudding in the kitchen, made cornucopias in the school room and played Victorian games on the long gallery. They even found out about the meaning behind some of the gifts Victorian children would have recieved, from a very special visitor.

In the afternoon, we went for had a walk around the grounds, found the maze at the back of the hall and up to the fishing pond and even managed to find a trim trail in the woods.

Inspite of the cold, all the children had a fun and informative day.
