Welcome to Year 5!

A very warm welcome to our Year 5 class page!

Here in Year 5, we believe that every child is unique and wonderfully made. We are commited to creating a safe, nurturing, child-centred environment where each pupil is valued as an individual, encouraged to grow in confidence, and supported to reach their full potencial in Christ. 

Throughout the year, we will be learning, exploring, and growing together-guided by our Christian values: love, courage, patience, service, trust, friendship, empathy, forgiveness, honesty, respect, joy and sharing. These values are at the heart of everything we do, shaping not just how we learn, but how we live and treat one another each day. 

Year 5 is a place where we celebrate effort, support one another, and find joy in learning. We are going to have a fantatsic year! 

Key Information

• PE will take place every Friday. The children need to come into school in their PE kit. 
• Spellings will be sent home every Friday and spelling tests will take place the following Friday. 
• Each half-term a curriculum grid and homework grid will be uploaded. This is to inform you about what your child will be learning and also provide opportunities for your child to complete some activites at home to extend their learning. 
• Reading is vitally important, your child needs to read every night at home and bring their book daily into school.
